At Home Yoga Practice

I am often asked how do I start practicing yoga and what do I need? Technically your mind and body are needed, but these additional four essentials assist in establishing your practice.

In addition to the above props, you may want to create an inviting space where you can practice. I have a small space in our bedroom that I can quickly roll out my mat and be transported to my own personal studio. You may want candles, incense or even an abalone shell to create a mood.

Yoga is a personal and intimate practice. Centering and grounding your mind and physical body while turning your awareness inward can be hard. We often don’t make time in our daily routine to checkin with ourselves. This is your time to do so.

I invite you to release expectations of how long you should practice, your mind wondering, if your body can’t quite get into a pose. Just get on your mat and move.
